  • Make your mornings less rushed
  • Eat, drink, kiss - your lipliner never smudges, smears or rubs off
  • No need to reapply during the day
  • No need to carry lipliner, eyeliner or eyebrow pencils
  • Makeup stays put through rain, humidity, a hot day at the beach or a workout at the gym

Permanent cosmetics can also correct uneven skin tones, diminish the appearance of scars, fill in hairlines for people experiencing hair loss, and create the appearance of an aerola for individuals who have had injuries or breast surgery. They're excellent for people who have allergies to cosmetics, have sensitivities to eye makeup due to contact lenses, or have difficulty applying makeup due to unsteady hands or visual impairment.

In 2011, Salon Michele Marie invested in Nouveau Contour state-of-the-art equipment and techniques in the field of permanent cosmetics.  Permanent cosmetics or permanent makeup is the revolutionary method of depositing hypoallergenic mineral pigments into the dermal layer of the skin.  All procedures are performed using Nouveau Contour equipment, fully computerized, digital machines that provide less trauma and excellent results.

Michele Marie is licensed by the Montana State Department of Public Health & Human Services, the agency responsible for approving tattooing in the state of Montana.   She is also a member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professions  www.spcp.org

Recently returned from Orlando, Florida, Michele Marie attended advanced, cutting-edge training at the Nuveau Contour Academy.  Nouveau Contour is regarded as the leading manufacturer of digital permanent cosmetic equipment, pigments and supplies in the United State and Europe.  The compan y exports to over 18 countries.

STATE-OF-ART EQUIPMENT

The Intelligent provides computerized technology.  It is equipped and controlled by an Intel microprocessor "chip".  The Intelligent's central processing unit offset the most advanced features, which allow for the selection of pre-programmed settings for various procedures, i.e. eyebrow, eyeliner and lip color.

Software installed in the central processing unit, the operating system of the Intelligent, consistently calculates the best needle frequency (speed) needed to achieve optimal pigment retention.  Skin structure varies according to the location, because the structure and tolerance of the skin is different for each area of application.

For example:  For areola pigmentation, the skin structure is very dense compared to that of an eye lid, which is very thin and supple.  When set on "Medical" the Intelligent will provide a more efficient way to deposit pigment in those areas, by automatically increasing the power to the hand piece and by adjusting the needle frequency.  In a similar manner, when the practitioner is working on an eyeliner procedure, the control unit of the Intelligent can be set to "Eyes," which slows down the power to the hand piece and adjusting of needle frequency, therefore depositing pigment more gently.

NOUVEAU CONTOUR PIGMENTS

Nouveau Contour Pigments are manufactured under the same rigorous standards as its equipment.  Stringent quality control procedures guarantee only the best, highest quality colorants.  All pigments are assessed for their chemical composition, chemical structure, crystal form, color intensity, granular density, colorfastness and purity .

Nouveau Contour's unique STAR (Skin Type Analysis Report) System simplifies the complexity of color theory, making it easy to choose the correct  pigment for each procedure and every skin type.  All of the relevant information is available for each pigment color.

For example, Michele can:  Immediatly identify which pigment to add to make a color darker or lighter; obtain a clear description of the pigment undertone - warm, cool or neutral; determine the best pigment color for eyebro ws, eyeliner and lips.

CONSULTATION:

Consultations are scheduled at least one week prior to the color application.  Below are the pre- and post-care instructions.

PRE-PROCEDURES INFORMATION:

All permanent cosmetic procedures are a multi-session process.  The first visit is for consultation purposes only.  Clients participate in all shapes and colors.  Clients are requested to wear their normal makeup and brin g their lip or brow pencils to the salon on the day of their consultation.

Clients are required to come back for at least one touch-up visit before it can be determined that the procedures is complete.  Touch-up visits are scheduled between 4 & 8 week intervals.

Be prepared for the color intensity of your procedure to be significantly larger, sharper, brighter, or darker than what is expected for the final outcome.  It will take time for this trasition, based on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates.

While these injected tones may initially simulate the exact color and tone desired, it will not always remain a perfect match.  Injected tones are constant, while your skin tones will vary depending on exposure to cold, heat, sun and circulatory changes.  For example, if you tan your skin and had a scar camouflaged, your surrounding skin will be darker in appearance than the treated area.

Since delicate skin or sensitive areas may swell slightly or redden, some clients feel it best not to make any social plans for a day or two following any procedures.

Any tweezing or hair removal procedure should be done at least two weeks prior to your procedure;  electrolysis hair removal no less than 5 days before.  Do not resume any method of hair removal for at least two weeks.

Any eyelash/eyebrow tinting or eyelash curling should be done no sooner than 72 hours before the procedure or two weeks after the procedures.

DO NOT WEAR CONTACT LENSES DURING OR IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE EYELINER PROCEDURE.  CLIENTS ARE REQUESTED TO BRING THEIR GLASSES WITH THEM ON THE DAY OF THEIR PROCEDURE.

Clienets may resume wearing their contact lenses as soon as their eyes return to their pre-treated condition.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

If you are having a lip procedure and have ANY history of cold sores, fever blister, or herpes simples, clients are required to contact their physician to obtain the proper prescription medication to prevent such outbreaks.  Many physicians prescribe Valtrex (12 capsules of 500 mg. each).  These can be taken 2 times a day, two days before the procedure and four days after, or as the physician prescribes.

POST-PROCEDURE:

Proper care after the procedure is IMPERATIVE to achieve the best results.  If clients have any questions during the healing process, they should NOT hesisite to contact Salon Michele Marie at 406-883-8018.

After Care:
  • A cold pack wrapped in a clean cloth may be applied to reduce swelling.  Sleeping slightly elevaated will help with swelling sometimes seen in the morning.
  • Wash your hands before touching the procedure area.  Cotton tipped applicators may be used to gently cleanse treated areas with water.  Do not expose treated areas to unsanitary conditions.
  • Some itching and tight dry feelings are normal.  DO NOT PICK, PEEL or SCRATCH the treated area of the procedure as it may heal unevenly and the client will risk scarring and infection.  For the first 4 to 5 days after the procedure, clients should apply a thin layer of Vaseline or Auquaphor to the procedure area with clean cottom tipped applicator to keep the area moist.  (Suggestion:  keep one tube in your purse and one at home so you are not caught without it.)
  • Please inform your physician about your cosmetic tattoo if you are planning to have a chemical peel, laster resurfacing, or an MRI.  For more information on tattooing and MRIs see the Society  of Professional Cosmetic Professional web site:  www.spcp.org and go into "public."
  • Be aware that the injected pigment and tone of the cosmetic tattoo may vary according to changes in individiual skin.  Exposure to sun, cold, heat, and circulatory changes can cause the color of your own living tissue to change.  For example:  If you have a scar camouflage procedure to match your skin and then tan your skin, your scar color will remain the constant, while the rest of your skin will be darker.

Eyeliner:

  • Expect light to moderate swelling and redness.
  • Two (2) times daily, gently wash treated area with cold water and gentle soap (Suggestion:  Dove soap does not disrupt the pigment.)  Do this for 7 days following the procedure.
  • Apply lubricant eye drops into eyes several times a day.  (Suggestion:  Thera Tears)  Leave the drops on your eyeliner wet, and do not blot it off of the eyeliner.  Please use individual lubricant eye drop tubes to avoid contamination.  Do this for 7 days following the procedure.
  • Mascara may be used 24 hours after the eyeliner procedure, provided it is a NEW mascara to avoid contamination.

Eyebrows:

  • Expect slight swelling, thickness and/or redness for 1 - 2 days following the procedure.  Keep treated area lightly glossed with Vaseline or Acquaphor for 7 days.  Wash with cold water and pat dry.  Do not resume any method of hair removal or use an eyelash curler in treatment areas for at least 2 weeks.
  • Light brow colors and people with oily skin usually experience faster color fade.

Lipliner:

  • After a lip procedure, keep your lips moist at all times with Vasoline or Aquaphor for 7 days, and then switch to Chapstick or lipstick with an SPF of 15 or greater, as the sun tends to fade lip coor quickly.  Continue prescribed medication to avoid cold sores.
  • Expect moderate swelling, usually 1-2 days following the procedure.  Applying ice for the first 2 hours is important, and should be continued throughout the day.  Wash with cold water and pat dry.
  • After the lip procedure, the lips may appear to have too much color.  After 3-4 days, the color will become lighter as the epidermis sloughs off.  It will appear as though there is a lost all of color (this is not uncommon); however, when the lips have healed completely, the dermal layer will gradually become darker.  Two or three applications may be required to achieve the desired results.  It is not uncommon to lose up to 70% of the color on the first application.

REMEMBER
DO continue prescribed medication to avoid cold sores;
AVOID spicy foods and hot liquids;
DO NOT use any Retin A, Glycolic Acids, Aloe, Vitamin E or Alpha Hydroxy Acid products or having "peels" in treatment area as they will fade the cosmetic tattoo;
DO NOT use peroxide or Neosporin on ANY area;
DO NOT scrub, pick or peel treated areas;
DO NOT expose areas to sun or tanning beds;
DO NOT dye/tint or tweeze eyebrows two weeks before and after procedure;
DO NOT use hot tubs, saunas, direct shower spray, chlorinated pools, saltwater, skin cream or lotions other than what has been advised to use until the treated area has completely healed.
